A Maintenance Mechanic is needed to work second shift (Monday &#45; Thursday, 3 p.m. &#45; 1:30 a.m.). 


The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance (including preventative) on all equipment and vehicles. Position will also perform all waste treatment work and SHE work (including audits) as needed. Incumbent is responsible for maintaining logs on all work performed in facility.

An excellent opportunity is available for a Tool and Die Maker at CertainTeed Siding Development Center located in Jackson, Michigan.&amp;nbsp; This site is responsible for developing and delivering tool and dies to our manufacturing facilities throughout the country.&amp;nbsp; The position is responsible for analyzing specifications, laying out metal stock, setting up equipment and operating machine tools, and fit and assembling parts to make and repair tooling and components and assemblies for internal manufacturing facilities.


Occupation Tasks:


   �    Program and operate CNC equipment to manufacture tooling components.

   �    Program and operate Wire EDM equipment to manufacture tooling components.

   �    Assist design team in verifying the accuracy of tooling dimensions and drawings. 

   �    Recommend changes and modifications to improve overall quality or reduce cost.

   �    Determine process to be used in the machining of tooling.

   �    Conduct test runs with completed tools and dies to ensure that parts meet specifications, making adjustments as necessary.

   �    Cut, shape, and trim blanks or blocks to specified lengths or shapes.

   �    Design jigs, fixtures, and templates for use as work aids in the fabrications of parts or products.

   �    Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers and dial indicators.

   �    Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes and tolerances of assemblies based on specifications.

   �    Train apprentices and assist Technology Center employees in machining practices.

   �    Troubleshoot tooling problems with other departments and plants</description>
